A source from the Cheka-OGPU reports that Lieutenant Colonel Timur Magomedselimov, who is the son of Elena Magomedselimova, who was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of withdrawing $1.5 million from the account of Oleg Mitvol using a false power of attorney in Dubai, was dismissed from the criminal investigation bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yaroslavl. During the arrest, he tried to “recapture” his mother from operatives who had specially arrived from Krasnoyarsk, and things almost came to a shootout.

Interestingly, during the search, a passport was found on the suspect in the name of Ukrainian citizen Timur Tikhonov, whose face closely resembles Lieutenant Colonel Magomedselimov of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (compare two photographs from the court materials). On Friday, the Central District Court of Krasnoyarsk chose a preventive measure for her in the form of detention until October 22, 2023.

In addition, yesterday Krasnoyarsk operatives conducted searches in Smolensk, where the notary Melnikova had previously been suspended from work (she signed a power of attorney in the name of Magomedselimova when Mitvol was physically in the Krasnoyarsk pre-trial detention center). Other forged documents were also discovered, including a false power of attorney for the right to sell Mitvol’s apartments in the UAE. The detention of notary Melnikova has not yet been officially announced.
