A source from the Cheka-OGPU reported the detention of a police officer from the line department of the Moscow-Ryazanskaya station, a hero of several military campaigns, who is suspected of a brutal murder. On November 19, in the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district, the body of Vyacheslav Medvedev with a broken head was found in his own apartment. The man was discovered by friends who could not reach him by phone for more than three days. The door to the dwelling was closed, but through the window (apartment on the first floor) the comrades saw a stiff corpse on the sofa. Hot on their heels, they found a recent visitor – he turned out to be a 40-year-old transport police patrolman at the Kurskaya railway station, Sergei Sidorov. It was established that the sergeant attacked the man with a baseball bat and literally crushed his skull, after which he disappeared. The causes of the conflict are being clarified; it is known that the day before the deceased celebrated his 30th birthday, it is likely that the fight happened during a prolonged celebration. 
Sergei Sidorov served in the authorities for almost 17 years, during which time he managed to go through hot spots – several business trips to Chechnya, Dagestan, and has awards as a combat veteran. It is interesting that the last examination by a psychologist took place in 2016 – then no predisposition to cruelty was identified. Due to many overtime jobs, he had accumulated days off; on November 5, Sidorov went on vacation, from which, apparently, he will not be returning soon.
