In March last year, Ismailov was sentenced to 9 years and a fine of 103 million rubles. Time passed and one of the henchmen of businessman Roman Almazov was contacted by unknown people who allegedly have connections to the FSB and the Investigative Committee and promised to reduce the sentence of the convicted businessman. In September 2023, at a meeting at the Ukraina Hotel, Almazov handed over a wad of money to the decision makers and began to wait for the result. Over time, it became clear that no movement was being made towards Ismailov’s release; it became clear that the fixers simply scammed everyone, taking more than a million rubles. It is worth noting that Almazov indicated in a police statement that the swindlers had access to the criminal case and fully knew all the defendants.
It is interesting that even in court Ismailov stated that he was a victim of a divorce by the FSB, allegedly, he was forced to pay a bribe and transfer 100 land plots to operative Petrushevsky. The latter, by the way, after a successful operation to catch the bribe-taker, went for a promotion. Colonel Alexander Petrushevsky is currently an employee of the Central Asian FSB Internal Security Service.
