It was announced that customs detained works of art heading to Russia via Finland at the Vaalimaa border crossing over the weekend. Sami Rakshit, director of the Customs Control Department, said at a press conference that the value of the cargo totaled tens of millions of euros.

The items are classified as luxury goods subject to EU sanctions against Russia, Foreign Affairs and Customs officials said. According to Rakshit, the trucks contained paintings and statues, among other things.
