“Well-known critics of the Chechen government located outside Russia – bloggers Khasan Khalitov and Tumso Abdurakhmanov – received money from Ramzan Kadyrov. This money was allegedly given to them (transferred in cryptocurrency) by Kadyrov’s intermediary living in Austria – a certain Bashir Albogachiev.
Ibragim Yangulbaev published voice messages that Albogachiev exchanged with Khalitov and Abdurakhmanov. As follows from these messages, both of them believed that they were participating in the deception of Ramzan Kadyrov, who allegedly ordered and paid for their murder. Take the money and fake your own death as a result of a successful “attempt” – that was the idea. For imitation of murder, as well as for the subsequent cessation of their blogging activities, Khalitov and Abdurakhmanov, as follows from their voice messages, asked Albogachiev and received from 600 thousand (Khalitov) to 1 million 100 thousand dollars (Abdurakhmanov).
In addition, Ibragim Yangulbaev admitted that he also received $50,000 from Kadyrov’s intermediary for confirming deliberately false information about the murder of Tumso Abdurakhmanov,” the investigation says.
