Dutch resident from Novaya Zemlya

The Dossier Center found out the biographies of 18 Russian diplomats expelled from the Netherlands after the start of the war in Ukraine for espionage.

Incredible, but almost all of them are either served in the special services, or studied in institutions closely associated with intelligence. And many of the exposed undercover diplomats did not particularly hide information about themselves and posted photos on social networks.

The most interesting of the expelled agents turned out to be an employee of the trade mission Dmitry Pichugin: Before diplomatic work, he served in secret military town on Novaya Zemlya, where the first Soviet nuclear test site. Then his career took him to Petrovka, 38 to the department for searching for missing persons, and then Pichugin moved to the Ministry of Industry and Trade in state secrets protection department. Such a biography cannot but arouse suspicion, especially considering that our hero managed to be delayed for a year before serving in the police. in the FSB special forces “Alpha”.

What’s most interesting is that after being expelled from the Netherlands, Pichugin gave an interview to a very strange project called “Creative Society” – this is a media resource associated with Ukrainian pseudo-religious movement “AllatRa”. The interview, however, was never published.

The biographies of the remaining 17 undercover diplomats are no less interesting. More details in the joint investigation. Center “Dossier” with the program Nieuwsuur of the Dutch public television channel NOS and the Belgian newspaper De Tijd.
