A contract worker from Dagestan, Muslim Rasulov, stabbed a colleague to death for saying “We old farts will not be hired by the Wagner PMC,” which he took personally. The incident occurred in the dormitory of a soldier’s dormitory on the evening of April 20, 2023, when the servicemen were talking about the war in Ukraine. When the victim complained about the impossibility of getting into the Wagner PMC due to his age, Rasulov approached him and began to find out who he had in mind. The colleague calmly explained that he meant himself and other older military men without the intention of offending anyone.

After 10 minutes, Rasulov approached him again and stabbed him at least 30 times with a tourist knife in the neck and chest area. The contract soldier partially admitted his guilt, but explained that he attacked unintentionally, because “because his mind was clouded due to being in a state of strong mental agitation caused by a sudden feeling of personal hostility due to the latter’s statement about “old farts”, which he perceived at himself, and therefore does not remember the moment of stabbing [потерпевшему]feeling only the mechanical work of the hands.”

From the testimony of one of the witnesses it follows that “Rasulov has rarely left the house over the past 20 years, by his nature he is quick-tempered, vindictive, sensitive to statements addressed to him, putting his honor and dignity in the foreground, in defense of which he could strike with a knife at a person, while in 2022 he was undergoing treatment at the Republican Psychoneurological Dispensary due to the presence of a mental illness.” The defendant was indeed being treated for a diagnosis of Organic Psychotic Disorder due to Traumatic Brain Injury.

The court sentenced Rasulov to seven years of strict regime.
