At the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, the competent authorities of the Argentinean Republic extradited a citizen of the Republic of Colombia Edgar Alehandro Valero Valero to Russia.
He is accused of committing a crime under paragraph “b” of part 4 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft, that is, the secret embezzlement of someone else’s property, a group of persons by prior conspiracy, on a particularly large amount).
According to the investigation, in July 2018 in Kazan in the pavilion of the Kazan Fair exhibition center Valero, with accomplices, stole a road suitcase with an employee of the SEVEN Diamonds jewelry company, which contains precious decorations in the amount of 160 million rubles. After that, he disappeared from the scene of a crime in a pre -prepared car, and ordered the stolen property at his discretion. 
The Vakhitovsky district court of the city of Kazan of the Republic of Tatarstan 09/28/2018 The accused was elected a preventive measure in the form of detention, his search was announced.
In September 2019, he was detained in the territory of the Argentinean Republic, after which the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation sent a request for its issuance to the competent authorities of the Argentine Republic.
The extradition process was multi-stage with the adversariality of the parties in court, during 2019-2020, materials and evidence were additionally submitted by the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
Thanks to the clear and well -coordinated actions of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, organized by close interaction with the competent authorities of Argentina, in September 2020 it was possible to achieve a positive decision on its issuance.
Accompanied by employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the Russian bureau of Interpol Edgar Alejandro Valero Valero will be delivered to Moscow.
