Upon the commission of a terrorist act by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Belgorod region, the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime provided for in paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act).
According to the ICR, in April 2022, on the territory of Ukraine, persons from among the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered into a criminal conspiracy with each other to commit a terrorist act on the territory of the Russian Federation. Using two combat helicopters equipped with heavy offensive weapons, they illegally invaded the airspace of the Russian Federation in the Belgorod region and, moving at low altitude, carried out at least 4 airstrikes on fuel and energy complex facilities in the territory of Belgorod.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed investigators, in cooperation with the relevant operational services, to promptly identify all those involved in the terrorist attack so that the perpetrators who gave and carried out the criminal order suffered the punishment established by law.
