Expropriation “in the name of the Russian Federation”? Residents of Olginka may be left homeless

On August 10, the Tuapse District Court in the Krasnodar Territory will consider the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office for the seizure of land plots in the village of Olginka. More than a dozen families who bought real estate on completely legal grounds and at a commercial price may be left without houses and tourist infrastructure. Now they appeal to the president Russia to Vladimir Putin with a request to prevent lawlessness. According to the defendants, the decision is already ready, and the meeting itself will turn out to be a formal approval of the illegal demand of the capital department.
The fact is that in Soviet times this land belonged to the Olginka trade union boarding house, which was abandoned in the 1990s. 15 years ago, the administration officially transferred the site of the ex-boarding house into private hands, and the site was divided between several owners. Subsequently, the owners changed several times. The current owners filled and improved the rural beach, created a yacht marina, built hotels, sports facilities, opened the country’s only museum of pre-revolutionary recreation in the Black Sea resorts, and tourist facilities. Others simply built houses to retire to the coast. Among the owners are pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, families of SVO participants and ordinary residents.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, their property is subject to confiscation and transfer to the ownership of the Krasnodar Territory, to which this land never belonged. This territory has also never been classified as a resort of regional importance, therefore there is no basis for the claim.

By the way, this is not the first time that the supervisory agency is reshaping the lands of former boarding houses – this happened in Shepsi, Kavminvody, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Sochi. In a number of cases, the owners managed to prove in the courts the illegality and groundlessness of such claims, but this had to take years of going through the courts.

What is happening can affect any resident – after all, all the land used to be state-owned, the prosecutor’s office may try to take it away!

Major Russian publications have already written about the outrageous situation. “Russian newspaper” “Kommersant”, “Moskovsky Komsomolets” “Version” and other media. This story has already been noticed in Moscow, where they pay close attention to such signals from the localities.

Fulfillment of the prosecutor’s claim will deprive residents of Olginka of housing and business

The village of Olginka is located on the Krasnodar coast of the Black Sea. In Soviet times, there was a boarding house here, which fell into disrepair in the 1990s, and a spontaneous landfill appeared in its place. In 2008, the administration of the Tuapse district transferred the land of the former boarding house…
