On July 29, a woman called the duty service and said that the company car of her husband, who works in the central office of the Investigative Committee, had disappeared from the parking lot under the windows. The applicant explained to the tense policeman that her husband was just a driver and was giving rides to someone from the authorities at the investigative committee, and on weekends he was allowed to take the car home. However, Toyota has disappeared somewhere, and the husband cannot say anything, because “due to poor health” he is sleeping.
All patrols in Moscow were directed to search, but the missing car was quickly found near the Dubrovka metro station, a few minutes’ drive from the driver’s house. There were two drunken friends in the cabin, who were immediately taken to the department. There they said that they had no intention of stealing the Toyota; moreover, they were drinking with the driver, since they had known each other for a long time and lived in the same house on different floors. This time the neighbor had too much alcohol and went to bed. And they turned on the chandelier and decided to scare passers-by just for the sake of a joke.
They say that after the weekend, a debriefing has already been held in the transport department of the Investigative Committee, they even propose to prohibit drivers from taking company cars home. However, in this case, in emergency situations, such as, for example, a UAV attack, the top officials of the investigative committee risk not reaching the scene of the incident on time. At the same time, no one remembers at all about the fumes and the condition of the drivers.
