A source from the Cheka-OGPU reports that the Moscow authorities are trying in every possible way to hush up the story of the discovery of an abandoned warehouse with ammonium nitrate in the attic of the Sviblovo electrical depot building that is being renovated. Immediately after information about explosive bags found on the territory of the metro depot was broadcast through the channels, the MM press service issued a refutation and stated that there was no reason to worry. However, generals do not go to calls for trifles. According to the source, yesterday the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the North-Eastern Administrative District Stroganov and the acting head of the Moscow forensic center Pakhomov, as well as a bunch of representatives of emergency and special services, were seen at the scene of the incident yesterday. It also turned out that the workers of the Spektr-Stroy company, having started restoring the roof, opened several spans and found a bunch of bags on the boards of the attic. Inside them was a white powder similar to sugar, but with larger granules. In a telephone conversation with the metro security service, Elina Ilyash, responsible for the department’s warehouse management, confirmed that the workers were confident that they had found saltpeter. The powder was immediately taken for examination, and the depot area was placed under tight security. It has been established that the last time anyone looked under the roof of the building designated as a metro supply warehouse was around 1990.
