The Cheka-OGPU became aware of a huge scandal that is brewing in the system of forensic medicine. Immediately 49 people from all regions of Russia sent collective letters to Prosecutor General Krasnov, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Bastrykin and Commissioner for Human Rights Moskalkova demanding to deal with the widespread corruption and negligence of Russian pathologists. All signatories are confident that their relatives died due to the fault of doctors, and the forensic experts conducting the autopsy are covering for their colleagues. As a result: criminal cases against doctors are either not initiated, or the investigation is delayed and reaches a dead end.
The Cheka-OGPU had this appeal at its disposal. Having studied the list of victims in detail, it turned out that of all the regional centers the leaders in dissatisfaction with the Ministry of Health and the entire medical system are Moscow, Saratov, Saransk, Orel and Samara. One of the activists of the “anti-medical group” lost her father in 2021 – he died in the “coronavirus” hospital No. 40 in Kommunarka. The woman is sure that the parent was killed: in the post-mortem photo she saw bruises, scratches and bruises on his body. And shortly before his death, he told his daughter on the phone that the hospital was “real hell.” After dozens of appeals to the Investigative Committee, multiple unsuccessful checks, the orphan more than once had to hear a refusal to initiate a case. Doctors refused to contact her, citing the fact that during the epidemic, only Covid was to blame for her father’s death. Pathologists allegedly did not even want to perform an autopsy. Having failed to achieve the truth, we had to organize an entire social movement, which now collects all the data on cases where doctors may be guilty of someone’s death, and forensic experts falsify conclusions.
The victims detail violations that have already become commonplace for those who work with corpses. The signatories say that pathologists have stopped opening skulls, no one really describes internal organs as required by regulations, tissue samples and blood are not examined for chemistry, biology, viruses and toxicology, organs are simply replaced or destroyed. Separately, the reluctance of forensic experts to describe in detail the injuries with which corpses arrive at the morgue is emphasized. Allegedly, this is done on orders from above, so that later there will be no complaints against the doctors. So, in one of the criminal cases, a pathologist suddenly found all the molars and wisdom teeth of a toothless 86-year-old woman, and between the legs of the deceased woman he saw a male member – all this, after examining the body, the diligent worker wrote down in his report. And after that, no one punished him or “experts” like him – Articles 307 and 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation passed them by. The last case when someone from the forensic medicine system was publicly flogged in front of journalists’ cameras was expert Mikhail Kleimenov, who found 2.7 ppm of alcohol in the “drunk boy” from Balashikha. He was given 10 months of correctional work, and was kindly invited to return to service.
All 49 applicants (these are those who just wanted to sign up openly) are sure that because of such deliberately false autopsy reports, cases of criminal negligence of doctors are not investigated. Subsequent examinations, unlike the initial examination, do not provide suitable answers; some investigations last 5-8 years. It is worth noting that among the unfortunate widows, daughters and sons of the deceased who signed the appeal, there are also high-ranking employees of large enterprises in the country. They are already talking about this case in the corridors of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Investigative Committee – a reception of a “group of anti-medics” may take place in the near future.
