In early January, DNA samples were taken from relatives of the missing. The only thing they know about the 33 missing are the sailors who, apparently, did not manage to get out of the stricken ship. Their loved ones were informed of disappointing forecasts: after the remains of the ship were lifted onto land, it would be carefully cut up, which would take approximately three months. Then, the discovered remains of military personnel will be compared using the DNA taken. At best, all procedures will take six months.
Let us remind you that the ship was destroyed on December 26. After arrival, after some time (about ten minutes), the cargo and ammunition detonated, the hull of the ship was scattered hundreds of meters, some buildings in the area were damaged and have not yet been restored. The ship cannot be restored.
According to relatives of the missing, the Novocherkassk landing ship was undergoing repairs in the port of Feodosia and remained there for about two months. On December 26, all personnel were assembled on board
After the attack, it became known that the entire command staff of the BDK was saved, the officers did not even receive significant injuries. In total, at the time of the attack there could have been up to 90 people on the ship (previously reported about 77), including conscripts (their number is unknown). Officially, the command of the unit and brigade reported that there were 33 contract soldiers missing, 4 conscripts (according to initial information), and 29 wounded.
“Everyone who survived – survived, who was “missing” – died, their relatives know about them, there are no living and at the same time unidentified in hospitals,” representatives of the Navy killed hope,” say relatives of the sailors.
