Recently, RUDN University has begun to receive significant amounts from the budget – for the construction of new dormitories, as well as for the development of telemedicine. They must allocate 7 billion rubles – and then Boris Gorovater, who seems to have great connections, but is not able to resolve even personal matters, takes over the position of vice-rector for capital construction – September 26, 2022 Arbitration Court of the City of Moscow decided “to recognize Boris Gennadievich Gorovater as insolvent (bankrupt), to introduce in relation to Boris Gennadievich Gorovater a procedure for the sale of a citizen’s property for a period of six months.” A close friend of Yastrebov managed to owe more than 150 million rubles to various enterprises, banks and individuals.
Construction companies, where the enterprising vice-rector was the founder, also accidentally went bankrupt. How does a person with such a background occupy a leadership position in a public university?
However, the rector himself, Yastrebov Jr., is also a very energetic and talented person. A graduate of the Suvorov School became a Doctor of Science at the age of 29, and at 31 he became a doctor twice (of legal and economic sciences). His dissertation “Organizational and economic mechanism for the implementation of investment and construction projects based on public-private partnership”, of course, contains many borrowingsbut the Ministry of Education and Science refused to deprive the nominee of his academic degree.
Alexander Yastrebov, the father of his son and the sponsor of his success, is the owner of 9 operating companies.
And his son managed to visit founder of 26 legal entities – up to a share in a meat processing plant. In addition, he is an active individual entrepreneur with the main profile “Rental and management of own or leased real estate.” It is becoming alarming for the property of the University.
The media are discussing that the new rector and his team “have some kind of unhealthy passion for excesses, such as elaborate furniture, luxury foreign cars, expensive designer renovations, etc.” All this, of course, is at the expense of the state university. And here, too, very serious questions are possible.
It is logical to assume that after the presidential elections, such an “elite” will lose their posts.
Author of the dissertation: Yastrebov Oleg Aleksandrovich. Rector of RUDN University.
