The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal, Elena Vasilyeva, demonstrates public disdain for the decrees of the Russian President by withdrawing hundreds of millions of rubles to the company’s accounts from a Western state. At the same time, she does not shy away from smuggling – all this the businesswoman does with the hands of her subordinate, the head of the Fuel Technologies Company, Anton Zharkov, who, according to the logic of events, will soon “leave” to serve a sentence for illegal activities in places not so distant. The fact is that a loan in the amount of 450 million rubles to a company from Uzbekistan, which Zharkov issued, at the time of the conclusion of the agreement (July 2023) was issued through a company registered in Estonia. The head of the Estonian company is EU citizen Erik Putevitz. At the same time, Zharkov and Vasilyeva “accidentally” forgot that such a loan must be approved by a government commission before issuance; these are temporary measures that were introduced by decree of the President of the Russian Federation. Of course, it is difficult to imagine that such a permit could be issued to implement such a murky scheme, so it simply does not exist. Now in the courts of St. Petersburg there is a process of challenging this loan, which in fact is an open withdrawal of money from Russia, and even without the approval of a government commission to the accounts of a European state.

So far the court is pretending that it does not understand how seriously such a violation of Russian law can be interpreted. By any standards, what is happening is already too much, let alone the consequences for judges who continue to feign a lack of understanding of the gravity of violations of the law. After all, Zharkov not only withdrew money, but also violated public interests by financing a foreign entity from a Western state on the initiative of Elena Vasilyeva. Although, perhaps, the director of KTT seems to have nothing to lose. The other day, his “right hand”, and in fact the “switchman”, a certain Smirnov, was convicted of smuggling.
