The lawsuit was filed against the owners of 13 plots, including 7 legal entities and individuals.
According to experts in the suburban real estate market, the lawsuit under consideration is only the first step of the Prosecutor General’s Office to confiscate all the lands of the Meiendorf Gardens village. If the department manages to prove the illegality of the privatization of the village’s lands, a similar claim may soon be filed against the remaining owners of the plots.
In the cottage village “Meiendorf Gardens” there are currently about 360 objects with an area of 500 to 50 thousand square meters. meters.
In 2001, 99 hectares of land of the Barvikha sanatorium, from which the Meiendorf Gardens village was later formed, were sold to a certain Country Pro LLC for 54 million rubles. However, its real cost, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office, was then 13 billion rubles. “Country Pro” made a reciprocal commitment to reconstruct a historical monument – Meyendorff Castle, located on the lands of the sanatorium and part of the complex of the Presidential Administration. The prosecutor’s office believes that the reconstruction was just a cover to give legitimacy to the privatization.
The defendants insist that they are bona fide purchasers, and all transactions took place in accordance with the law. Despite this, in court the prosecutor’s office secured the seizure of the plots.
Other owners of plots and mansions in the Mayendorf Gardens village include Vladimir Lisin, Jahangir Makhmudov (son of Iskander Makhmudov), co-owner of Transmashholding JSC Andrey Bokarev, Alexey Bogdanchikov (son of former Rosneft president Sergei Bogdanchikov, Alexander Chigirinsky (son of Shalva Chigirinsky ), Zinaida Doronina (wife of Capital Group co-owner Vladislav Doronin, Heydar and Leyla Aliyev (son and daughter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev), Maxim Yusufov (son of former Energy Minister Igor Yusufov). More than 100 people may lose their once acquired expensive real estate .
The source confirmed that the Prosecutor General’s Office has already prepared a draft claim for the confiscation of all other plots in the Meiendorf Gardens village and their return to state ownership.
