“This is a big problem that affects all sports at the European level, it needs to be quickly resolved by copyright holders and authorities,” said Hervé Le Maire, head of LeakID (specializing in copyright protection of sports competitions), on August 24. France’s Professional Football League has complained that piracy represents a significant loss of turnover for national broadcasters and therefore for the association and clubs. 
French media reported that Telegram “shows no enthusiasm to cooperate [с вещателями] and delete broadcasts in a timely manner.” “They have teams that process withdrawal requests, but for 90-minute matches this is useless because the deadline is too long,” explained Hervé Le Maire. In particular, the messenger’s response time to a request to delete a broadcast can be up to 24 hours. Some Telegram channels offer users up to four backup broadcast links, allowing them to watch matches if the main link is blocked.
The professional football league said it was prepared to use “every means at its disposal” to prevent the spread of pirated broadcasts.
