24-year-old Yulia Malets, who took her mother’s maiden name as a pseudonym, lived in Chertanovo and studied at a regular school. The girl’s father worked as a cash collector and, judging by his daughter’s recollections, spent time at home on the computer. In the account where Yulia Malets broadcast her games, she wrote that from the age of 7 she watched her parents play computer games. 
Yulia Malets shared little details of her personal life, but according to friends, she previously met with 29-year-old Georgy Sardaryan, who is involved in cryptocurrency.
Georgiy’s father, or Gogi, as he is called in the family, is Tigran Sardaryan, the former deputy head of the State Construction Supervision Authority in Crimea, and his brother Henry Sardaryan is the dean of the Faculty of Management and Politics at MGIMO. Both were registered with him in the same apartments on Serpukhovsky Val, as well as on Vavilova Street.
Yulia Malets ordered food from the same addresses using her phone and email. The girl is signed in Henry Sardaryan’s phone book as “Yulia Goga.” And during the days of the “Covid bans,” Yulia Malets drove Georgiy’s Mercedes along the route from her father’s house to the Sardaryans’ house.
