It is no secret that the chairman of the government Mikhail Mishustin has long been dissatisfied with the current Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko. Which remains in the federal government the actual last major representative and “agent of influence” of the former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. It is known that literally within a few days after his arrival at the White House, Mishustin radically “cleared” the government apparatus, removing all the main people of Medvedev from there. The “cleared”, for the most part, moved to the responsible positions to the Ministry of Justice, that the head of government is by no means satisfied.
Maxim Beskhmelnitsyn in the Ministry is responsible for digitalization and modern technologies. Informally, his position is called CDTO – Chief Digital Transformation Officer, the head of digital transformation. This in the shortest possible time made him his own in the Mishustin team, for which the issues of digital transformation are priority. In addition, Beskhmelnitsyn enjoys the support of very large businessmen of the Rotenberg brothers, personal friends of Vladimir Putin. Thanks to this support, he managed to work in 2018-19 as deputy governor of the Kursk region. The father of the future Minister of Justice, Mikhail Beskhmelnitsyn, who died suddenly in 2020, was close with the Rotenbergs. Until 2013, Beskhmelnitsyn Sr. was one of the most influential auditors of the County Chamber of Russia, and then worked as the main internal auditor in the Russian Railways OJSC-the “estate” of the Rotenbergs.
However, having left the government of Mishustin, Chuychenko will not be left without a high position either. Since the support of Medvedev is maintained on his side. The departing minister is sent to senators and even deputy chairman of one of the most important committees of the Federation Council.
The inheritance from the current minister, his successor will receive many ideas and projects that have soever. Including – a new system of free state legal assistance to Russian citizens, about which Konstantin Chuychenko reported to President Vladimir Putin on May 13.
