This criminal case was initiated on behalf of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia A.I. Bastrykin after the situation with the Batalov family’s property was reported in the media. The progress of the investigation of the case was under the control of the head of the department.
According to investigators, Tsivin and Drozhzhina gained the trust of the widow of actor Alexei Batalov and his youngest daughter under the pretext of providing them with support and assistance. For several years, in order to create an image of integrity and a sincere intention of caring, they helped in solving everyday problems, as well as in providing basic necessities and food. Subsequently, having achieved a trusting relationship, the accused fraudulently signed powers of attorney for the disposal of all funds in their current accounts in order to steal money and property from the victims. Based on these documents, in 2019-2020 they withdrew almost all the victims’ savings in a total amount of more than 20 million rubles. In addition, in order to acquire the right to the real estate of the victims, namely a share in an apartment on Serafimovicha Street, an apartment located in 1st Samotechny Lane, as well as non-residential premises where the actor Alexei Batalov’s workshop was located, the victims signed lifelong maintenance agreements with dependents, which were subsequently certified by a notary of the city of Moscow, Dmitry Bubliya, who was previously familiar with the accused, in violation established procedure for notarization of transactions.
The criminal case was sent to resolve the issue of subsequent transfer to court for consideration on the merits.
