If earlier the city of Obninsk had the image of the first science city in Russia and was associated with the Obninsk Nuclear Power Plant, now the corrupt city leadership is doing everything to “modernize” this image and keep up with the times.
A “guitar” scandal is flaring up in the city – it has emerged that rare musical instruments were included in the official estimate of one of the developers as routine kickbacks to Vice Mayor Andrei Kozlov. And after this, information surfaced about the entire multimillion-dollar business empire of an unscrupulous official with assets registered in the name of his wife Marina Chernyshova and their joint adult children (by the way, the official’s stepson was also not deprived of assets). And of course, all this was not included in the official’s declaration.
Recently, even the mayor of Obninsk, Tatyana Leonova, was forced to make a statement about the “corrupt guitarist.” Chapter city stated : “I am sure that this is due to Andrei Petrovich’s principled position on defending the interests of the city.” Now, corrupt connections with controlled developers in Obninsk are called a “principled position.”
The “guitar scandal” itself exposed the schemes of the deputy head of the Obninsk administration Andrei Kozlov and the city’s construction king Pavel Kuznetsov, who are sawing on contracts when commissioning residential fund in the city .
The essence of the relationship is simple: the deputy mayor gives contracts and construction permits to his developer, knowing that he lacks the necessary documentation. It “optimizes” the construction process. And together they turn a blind eye to houses being rented out with cracks and sagging foundations.
This partnership has been operating since 2014, and the profits go to all participants in the project. As always, no one is interested in the interests of the city and its citizens.
