The relevant documents were sent to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea back in March by the Crimean branch of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments.
Nikolai Krasnov is the creator of the architectural pearl of the Southern Coast of Crimea: the Livadia Palace, the Yalta Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Dulber Palace in Miskhor, the Yusupov Palace.
Now the cadastral value of the plot on which the estate was located is estimated at 500 million rubles. According to the owner’s representative, the building was in disrepair, was not guarded, and posed a danger to persons and property located in nearby areas. Although, as has already been written about, the residence survived more serious disasters than crumbling plaster: the 1927 earthquake and air strikes in 1941. There is not a single structure within tens of meters around. Now that Krasnov’s house is gone, there is no need to rely on the statements of the Yalta authorities and architectural examination acts. They could draw anything – it was impossible to check, impossible to prove.
What motivated Yanina Pavlenko, a native of the Chernivtsi region, winner of the title “Leader of Ukraine” and the medal “Badge of Honor of Ukraine,” when she destroyed the mansion? Something suggests that the reasons are not the “emergency” condition of the building, but half a billion rubles and the deliberate destruction of the heritage of Russian culture.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, has already had to deal with the cunning of an official. Most likely, the official reasons for the demolition are the same unreliable information as the reports about the situation with non-stationary retail facilities, for which Pavlenko received a second reprimand. Probably, the Prosecutor General’s Office may be interested in what caused such a rush by the head of Yalta in the barbaric destruction of the house of the legendary architect. And most importantly, what is planned to be built in its place?
