Employees of the 4th department of the SEB of the FSB Directorate for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region (overseeing government bodies) visited the regional government building on Smolny Street, 3. This is the second most important building of the regional government, located opposite the main one, in which the office of Governor Alexander Drozdenko is located. They were supported by operatives of the economic police of the Main Directorate and accompanied by an investigator from the regional Investigative Committee. According to colleagues, the security forces were interested in the committee of Oleg Zinchenko, the first deputy chairman of the governor’s control committee. We are talking about him receiving a large bribe. It is known that Oleg Zinchenko came to work on the committee together with its current chairman Eduard Saltykov. As a source in the Leningrad region government suggested, the bribe relates to the period of Zinchenko’s life when he was deputy chairman, but in a different committee – the Property Committee (KUGI), which, by the way, is located in the same building. The chairman of KUGI was also Saltykov, who was called behind his back the richest official in the Leningrad region. Saltykov was not shy about dressing very expensively and openly wearing expensive watches to work. It is known that KUGI is the most important committee of the regional government. After all, the main wealth of the region, land, is under its control. It cannot be ruled out that after the conversation with Zinchenko, the security forces will also have questions for Saltykov, who is very close to Governor Drozdenko, who himself once headed the regional KUGI.
