The “bidding” for the position of rector of MADI has ended. The winner was Artem Azhgirevich, who does not meet the qualification requirements for the position of Rector – he does not have an academic title or even the minimum teaching experience to obtain it. All his achievements in the scientific and educational sphere come down to defending his Ph.D. thesis under the leadership of the influential State Duma deputy Gutenev, who is close to Rostec and the Minister of Education Falkov. This explains the visit of the Rostec CEO to MADI immediately after the appointment of Azhgirevich. For a long time, Azhgirevich worked for Gutenev as the executive director of the Association “League for Assistance to Defense Enterprises.”
Sources report that Azhgirevich’s hasty appointment took place without the approval of the FSB, since the service has questions about Azhgirevich’s previous place of work as deputy governor of the Tver region. Perhaps an influential scientific supervisor helped him evade responsibility.
Azhgirevich has complete carte blanche from the Ministry. On the very first day of work, he approved the new first vice-rector – Marat Badashkeev, who also did not have an academic degree or title. Candidate of Sciences Igor Artemyev, whose work in the field of education was limited to working as an assistant at the department more than 20 years ago, was appointed vice-rector for academic affairs. The new vice-rectors immediately surrounded themselves with deputies, advisers and assistants, many of whom had never worked anywhere before joining the university. In order to ensure high salaries for new employees, the level of allowances for existing employees and teachers is being reduced, and large-scale personnel “cleansings” are being announced.
The “beneficiaries” of these “trades” have their own idea of the implementation of the tasks set by the President within the framework of the meeting of the Council on Science and Education under the President, as well as the annual Address to the Federal Assembly, which includes Azhgirevich’s scientific supervisor, Deputy Gutenev.
