As the Cheka-OGPU learned, investigative actions in the criminal case against the general director of Oboronlogistics LLC Anton Filatov, accused of particularly large-scale embezzlement (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), which had not been carried out for five years, resumed on the day of his arrest his patron Timur Ivanov on April 26. At the same time, Filatov, whose criminal case was initiated back in 2018, was arrested by the Basmanny Court. Being first under house arrest, and from April 11, 2019, under a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior, Ivanov’s former subordinate regularly traveled outside of Russia, and in April 2024 he was on a business trip in China, upon his return from which he was taken to court for trial. in order to be sent to a pre-trial detention center. The defense, when considering the complaint against Filatov’s arrest, insisted that the trips abroad were made with the knowledge of the investigator, but the court did not find confirmation of this.

As the Cheka-OGPU previously reported, Filatov’s case concerning the theft of money from the Interkommerts Bank was lost in the archives of the Investigative Committee several years ago, not least thanks to ex-Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu and his former first deputy Ruslan Tsalikov. The last two personally dissuaded Filatov and Ivanov. The resuscitation of the case involving the theft of several billions from Interkommerts, which craftsmen from the Ministry of Defense “accepted” for a controlled company and “dissolved” through their nominees abroad, is nothing more than an “undermining” of Ivanov and Tsalikov.

Filatov’s defense claims that the case file contains no evidence of his involvement in the embezzlement. “In this case, the court refers to the protocols of investigative actions, including protocols of interrogations, confrontations, searches, seizures, inspections, the results of expert research and operational investigative activities, which are not included in the presented materials. On the contrary, in the case materials there is data indicating insufficient information about the involvement of the accused in the charged crime, as evidenced by the return of the case to the investigator by the prosecutor for additional investigation,” says the appeal ruling of the Moscow City Court, which upheld Filatov’s arrest.
