“There are a lot of dead, that’s why the bodies are not being transported to Rostov; there has been no identification since August 7”

Relatives of 20-year-old contract soldier from the region Alexander Vasin, who died on August 7 in the Kursk region, told the -OGPU that they were informed about the death of a serviceman without identification. That is, despite the fact that almost a week of hostilities had passed and there were testimonies from comrades, the body of the deceased was never officially taken to the military morgue due to the large number of fallen soldiers.

From the story of Alexander Vasin’s relatives it follows that a guy from a large family living in Kolomna entered the army as a conscript – he served in military service. After the start of the SVO, he and many other young people were “persuaded” to sign a contract with a guarantee that they would remain to serve in the military unit.

For almost a year, Alexander Vasin actually served in the military unit in Shchelkovo, near Moscow, as promised. But shortly before the end of the contract, when the guy (and others like him) were completely dependent on the commanders, he had to sign a new contract without dates and without deadlines (according to the contractor, at the time of signing the numbers were not written down in the papers).

In April 2024, military personnel, including Alexander Vasin, were sent near Kursk, to a “warm place” to defend the border. As the Cheka-OGPU already wrote, to replace the special forces who were redeployed to help the Sever group. On the border of the Kursk region, most of them, recent conscripts, died during the attack and advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to a representative of the unit, who contacted Alexander’s mother and told her that her son died on August 7, the body has not yet been officially identified due to the queue, since there are many dead and the remains are not yet being transported to Rostov, where everything is already being produced procedures and prepare the necessary documents. In addition, Alexander Vasin and some of his colleagues still have not been paid about half a million rubles due to them under the contract.
