“There was a group [ВСУ]they shot, blew up, the wounded came in a stream, a lot, first mobilized, then Akhmat, a lot of them”

Galina, a nurse at the Korenevskaya Central District Hospital, told the -OGPU that she was in the hospital with a patient. The area around is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the interlocutor, when the attack began and until recently, wounded servicemen arrived in a continuous stream. The injured military personnel were taken in dozens to the Central District Hospital, to the neighboring Rylsk hospital and to Kursk. At the same time, the first victims were mobilized and conscripts, and only then wounded Akhmatova soldiers began to arrive, who were clearly not in the first line of defense.

The wounded soldiers were taken away with their equipment in an organized manner during the day by military personnel, but the civilians, as the Cheka-OGPU wrote, were left to their own devices. The authorities came up with a new justification; now, according to officials, the evacuation was still carried out, but it was not mandatory!

As nurse Galina said, she remained in the central district hospital along with six elderly patients, who at first were not taken by their relatives, and then they began to dismantle them one by one after control of the troops and the district administration passed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, all management, including the head physician, left the hospital, abandoning their colleague along with the patients.

At the same time, as local residents told the Cheka-OGPU, many of them consciously decided to stay in their homes. Thousands of people, as we reported earlier, only in Korenevo itself about 2 thousand people, or at least 40% of the population of the regional center, did not evacuate.
