235 garrison military court granted the request of the Main Military Department of the of Russia to place in custody the Deputy General Director of Textile Trading Company LLC (Tchaikovsky Textile group of companies) Vladimir Demchik. He is suspected of committing a crime under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale).

It was established that reserve colonel Demchik until April 2018 held the position of head of the Clothing Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense. In the spring of 2017, the general director of one of the commercial organizations, wanting to secure the patronage of Demchik when resolving issues of involving the said commercial organization in the execution of government contracts for the supply of various clothing equipment for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, gave the latter a bribe in the amount of 4 million rubles.

Having studied the seized documents, investigators established that in 2017-2018, the organization represented by the bribe-giver was involved as a co-executor under government contracts for the supply of various clothing items for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. During this period, a total of 26 contracts were concluded with it for a total amount of more than 574 million rubles.

The issue of initiating a criminal case against the bribe-giver is currently being considered.
