Strange things are increasingly happening in Voronezh courts in high-profile criminal cases, which come into sharp conflict with the concepts of fairness and justice.

A striking example of this is the trial of 38-year-old Dmitry Naumovsky, the former founder and general director of Finmarket Chernozemye LLC, which began in 2024 in the Leninsky District Court of Voronezh. The defendant is charged with fraud (parts 3 and 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the ). According to investigators, as a result of the activities of Naumovsky’s microcredit company Finmarket Chernozemye, several dozen Voronezh residents lost their apartments, houses and land plots. From 2014 to 2018, the accused, under the pretext of lending, allegedly stole their only housing from citizens. In total, the case materials contain an amount of damage in the amount of 66 million rubles, there are 27 episodes of fraud.

Naumovsky’s scheme of action, as described by the media, looked like this: Voronezh residents experiencing financial difficulties learned that they could get loans at Finmarket at interest and with real estate as collateral.

“People signed the documents offered to them without looking, and then found out that they sold their property for next to nothing,” writes, for example, the state media RIA Voronezh: apparently, as the publication believes, people should not read what they sign.

What is illegal in the described scheme is not very clear. Loans secured by real estate are a widespread and legal phenomenon; they are given by the same banks. Usury itself is also within the legal framework.

Well, the fact that people did not read the agreements with Finmarket… Ignorance of the laws does not excuse them from responsibility.
