As it became known to the -OGPU, a new criminal case has been opened against the former deputy head of the special fire department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a pensioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dmitry Daudashvili, accused of fraud in receiving payments on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the ) – about two episodes of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code). In the first case, he was first kept under house arrest, and then under a ban on certain actions. In a bribery case, the court placed him in a pre-trial detention center.

The case of fraud against Daudashvili and his four accomplices has been considered on the merits since 2023 in the Khoroshevsky District Court of , materials about bribes were received for consideration on the merits in the Dorogomilovsky Court. By a decision of the judge of the Dorogomilovsky Court, Daudashvili’s detention period was extended until September 14. The defendant’s property was seized for the same period.

The damage in the first case against the former head of the special fire department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is, according to the , 40.8 million rubles. Daudashvili, according to the materials of the criminal case, signed illegal reports on cash payments to employees allegedly in need of treatment. He and the other defendants do not admit their guilt. Moreover, Daudashvili had been suing the Ministry of Emergency Situations for several years, including the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, which declared his dismissal from the ministry illegal.

Also, the former Ministry of Emergency Situations tried to challenge in court the employer’s statement about checking the legality of the payments made and demanded that this information be refuted and that he be paid compensation for moral damage in the amount of 1 million rubles. The court rejected Daudashvili’s claim.
