The -OGPU became aware of extremely interesting circumstances surrounding the mysterious death of the former prosecutor of Krasnogorsk Igor Arsenyev, who was found dead a year ago in . The hastened to issue a decision refusing to initiate a criminal case, but the relatives of the deceased are sure that he was killed. The ex-prosecutor had a broken nose before his death, and on the eve of the tragedy, Igor Arsenyev had a fight with his wife, an employee of the prosecutor’s office and the daughter of a high-ranking employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Prosecutor Igor Arsenyev met his last wife at the Krasnogorsk prosecutor’s office around 2021, where Kristina (nee Baeva, now Arsenyeva, deputy Khoroshevsky interdistrict prosecutor) was his assistant. The couple’s family life did not work out, and after a year and a half, the Arsenyevs separated. The cause of the discord was a property dispute – Igor bought himself an apartment worth about 27 million rubles with money set aside for “retirement” and registered the living space in his mother’s name. And the wife laid claim to the square meters: she wanted to register a share for her son from a previous marriage. At the same time, Christina blackmailed her husband by saying that otherwise she would report the undeclared stash to the proper place.

According to relatives, Igor Arsenyev was also, to put it mildly, no gift: he was being treated for alcoholism, he also had a marriage behind him, and he had stomach problems. In January 2023, he retired, settled in a new apartment on Parshina Street and lived alone. At the same time, again according to interlocutors from the circle of the now deceased prosecutor, he was actively looking for work, did not abuse alcohol, began to communicate more with his daughter from his first marriage, and had no dubious contacts. The active phase of the conflict with his wife Kristina Arsenyeva was that Igor Arsenyev told her that he had collected incriminating evidence on her on “official matters”, and she, in turn, threatened him with problems from her father – the first deputy head of the Department for ensuring the security of persons subject to state protection (UOGZ Ministry of Internal Affairs of the ), Colonel Alexey Baev.

After the fatal confrontation with his wife, Igor Arsenyev was never seen or heard from again. On April 4, 2023, he had a meeting planned with his daughter, but he missed it without warning, which he had never done before. On April 6, Kristina Arsenyeva contacted the police, reporting her husband missing. On the same day, the body of the ex-prosecutor of Krasnogorsk was discovered in an apartment on Parshina Street. According to preliminary data, the duration of death was at least 1 day. At the same time, the results of the pre- check were never announced to Igor Arsenyev’s relatives, despite their numerous appeals and complaints (the deceased’s brother is a former employee of the prosecutor’s office, a lawyer). It is still not known whether the CCTV cameras were reviewed, or whether any technical measures were taken.

But the post-mortem forensic medical examination showed very mixed results. The cause of death was listed as internal bleeding. But besides this, the study revealed multiple bodily injuries: Igor Arsenyev had a broken nose and bruises throughout his body. It is also not clear which came first and what caused the bleeding. Despite the fact that there were no traces of alcohol or drugs in the body of the deceased, that is, he was not drunk and was not on a binge.

As another inconsistency, the interlocutors of the Cheka-OGPU cite the fact that Alexey Baev called Igor Arsenyev’s relatives almost immediately. The prosecutor’s father-in-law said even before all the investigations that the death would not be considered criminal. Subsequently, the inheritance (an apartment in Odintsovo) was divided between the heirs, and Kristina Arsenyeva, meanwhile, initiated a lawsuit from her friend against the mother of the late Igor Arsenyev. Allegedly, the former prosecutor of Krasnogorsk, on the eve of his death, sold the apartment for cash of 27 million rubles to a friend of his wife, remaining to live there after the transaction. Themis sided with the plaintiff and her decision was appealed.

According to the words of Igor Arsenyev’s relatives, Alexey Baev made it clear to the deceased’s relatives that if they resist, they will have problems with the law.
