As the learned, next week the former head of the Irkutsk penal colony-6, Alexey Agapov, and two of his subordinates, Alexey Mednikov and , will be released. They were the only representatives of the FSIN torture system who appeared in court. They were convicted only last year for brutal torture and rape of prisoners with a mop, but already representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service are being released.

Without the support of the Directorate M of the FSB of the , which supervises, among other things, the FSIN and the courts, this would simply be impossible.

The court granted the petitions of ex-employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Irkutsk Region for conditional early release from IK-13 “Red Duck” in the Sverdlovsk Region.
At the same time, Agapov, Mednikov, Erokhin, according to the source, were initially suspected not only of torture and rape, but also of murdering prisoners. However, their case was not properly investigated. Only “crumbs” reached the court.

As it was established, all three were involved in the torture of prisoner Takhirjon Bakiyev in January 2021 after a riot in Angarsk colony No. 15, which was brutally suppressed by prison special forces. Bakiyev was transferred to IK-6, where he was abused by the “developers” on behalf of IK-6 employees. The convict’s wife said that the man was beaten with a board and raped with a mop. He was found under the bunk only after information about the torture was transferred to the FSIN’s own security service and the Prosecutor General’s Office. They tried to extract information from Bakiev about the organizers of the prisoner riot.

Agapov, Mednikov and Erokhin were sentenced on February 9, 2023 to five years in a general regime colony each with a ban on holding certain positions for a year and a half. At the end of 2022, former prisoner stated that he was forced to give up testimony against FSIN employees in the case of brutal torture of Bakiyev.
The trio were sent to the Red Duck Penitentiary to serve their sentences, but they did not stay there for long. In conditions of “silence”, Agapov and Co. received a decision on parole and should be released this coming week.
