The former prosecutor of the Smolensk region, and now the head of the department of the State Prosecutor’s Office for the investigation of particularly important cases of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Evgeniy Polonsky, resolved the issue of torture on his orders of Alexei Vladimirov, who allegedly robbed his official apartment, and even managed to give a confession, which then disappeared. The very fact of bringing criminal charges against any employee would indicate that during the investigation of the case of the theft of things from the office apartment of the regional prosecutor, a crime was committed, which most likely could have affected Polonsky’s future work at the State Prosecutor’s Office. The case of torture of Vladimirov was terminated due to the absence of a crime, and the termination was enforced by the head of the Main Directorate for Supervision of the Investigation, Gen. Prosecutor’s Office Zolotarev S.I. I would like to see whether Zolotarev would have enforced the termination of the case if the attached expert opinions had been given in relation to him. The video shows Vladimirov’s confessionary testimony during a polygraph test, which later disappeared.
As the Cheka-OGPU has said more than once, when Polonsky headed the prosecutor’s office of the Smolensk region, his office apartment was robbed. The prosecutor raised hell with all the security officials, including the FSB, and the Vladimirovs’ mother and son were detained.

However, they were not convicted of the crime; there was no evidence. As Alexey Vladimirov pointed out, he was tortured in the basement of pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Smolensk until he confessed, and in the morning, right in the office of the head of the pre-trial detention center, Mikhalik, Polonsky personally interrogated him “with bias.” The story repeated itself with Alexei’s mother; she was also interrogated by Polonsky in the office of the head of the pre-trial detention center.

As a result, the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Smolensk Region opened a criminal case on the fact of causing bodily harm to Alexey Vladimirov. During interrogations, Polonsky called the events with Vladimirova a “personal reception” within the pre-trial detention center. But he categorically denied visiting Alexey.

As a result, in July 2022, the case of Vladimirov’s torture was closed due to the absence of a crime. However, after complaints from defense lawyers, the decision was canceled and the investigation was resumed.
