Following the removal of corrupt officials from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, there was a removal from a high-ranking “general” position in the Russian Orthodox Church.

Last week it turned out that Bishop Feognost (Dmitriev) of Novorossiysk was sent into exile after a corruption scandal. For 10 years, the latter fed himself from the taxes collected from parishioners, and also stole from donations allocated for the construction of churches.

And everything would have been “slammed and covered” until the bishop decided to steal as much as possible during the construction of the cathedral of the city of Gelendzhik in honor of St. Andrew the First-Called.

Unfortunately for Dmitriev, there is now a period in the country when the green light has been given for the flooding of corrupt officials and this chain is dragging each other down.

The fact is that money for the construction of the temple was allocated by the state company RosTech, which is the main contractor of the Ministry of Defense. And as we know, the activities of the cash-out chains of this organization were taken a very close look and the path led to the “unholy holy general” of the sunny region.

As in the best traditions of investigations of Russian corruption, in this case they found forgedly signed documentation, cashed-out individual entrepreneurs and, of course, acquired houses on the shore of the pearl of the Region – the village of Myskhako, registered in the name of relatives and trusted persons. It turns out there is a whole shopping center on the street. Father built Ostrovsky for his comfortable old age.

Now the bishop is shaking over his gold and is very afraid that everything he has acquired may still be confiscated.

We can only hope that law enforcement agencies will bring the results of their work to their logical conclusion and create a precedent for criminal prosecution in the holy department.
