According to the interlocutor, Georgiy Gevorkyan’s confidant was under operational investigation for more than 6 months, and after his arrest, the DWV employee agreed to cooperate and hand over the boss. 
During the activities, the security forces found out that the caught boss was working according to the scheme with indecently high percentages. Of all the funds received within the framework of the investment program of the central directorate of railway stations (reconstruction, improvement of security and energy systems), the actual contractor had to return as much as 30% of the total contract amount, of which 10% went to the subsidiaries of Russian Railways JSC for the fact that they received contracts without competition and transferred them to the contractor. The remaining 20%, under the clear and personal leadership of Georgy Gevorkyan, was distributed by him personally, among members of his community.
Only for the bribe for which a high-ranking manager was taken, the amount of the “kickback” can be more than 25 million rubles. And the total appetite of the king of stations in 2024 alone can be estimated at more than 2 billion rubles.
It would not be amiss to note that the position of Georgy Gevorkyan is comparable to the rank of deputy minister. All Russian Railways stations and ticket offices were under his control. And in the notebook of the head of the JV there are a lot of high-ranking officials, deputies, businessmen, athletes, stars of all stripes. After all, even if we don’t talk about business, through it one could get access to all the benefits: the best service and permission to wait in the hall for officials and delegations, or a reservation at any end, even for a departing train.
