During Demeshin’s tenure, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation began to very actively restore order in the fishing industry of the Far Eastern Federal District, returning to the state lost income from criminalized business.
There is an opinion that the Prosecutor General’s Office, following the cases of the “crab kings” Oleg Kan and Dmitry Dremlyuga, could pay close attention to the stevedoring business in the ports of Vladivostok and Nakhodka, where at a number of state berths enterprising businessmen who have “friends” are still “sawing money” a number of high-ranking officials, including the current head of Rosmorrechflot Andrei Tarasenko, who is tipped to become the head of Rosrybolovstvo in the future.
In local business circles, businessman Stanislav Sabestyanovich is named as one of Tarasenko’s lobbyists. The main interest of the businessman and his wife Natalya is the port ones, which are assigned to the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Natsrybresurs”, which, in turn, is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Agency for Fisheries.
At the same time, a well-known businessman in certain circles does not hesitate to simply cheat his business partners, using a simple but very effective scheme. Having received the rights to operate the berths, its structures then sublease the walls, attracting third-party capital, and then gradually squeeze its owners out of the profitable business. In fact, money is made out of thin air (in this case, water) and contrary to state interests. This is what it means to have influential patrons among regional and federal officials.
Let us note that Mr. Tarasenko, during his visits to Vladivostok in the role of an official of Rosmorrechflot and Natsrybresurs, was seen on the territory of the sea piers in the company of Stanislav Sabestyanovich. What ideas were discussed by an influential official and a successful businessman is a big question. But practice shows that the berths at the port remain in an emergency situation, while the stevedoring business continues to bring super profits.
