The passenger bus that fell into the Moika River on the Kissing Bridge in St. Petersburg belongs to Taxi LLC. As colleagues from Lisa’s editorial office write, from January 1, 2022 to May 10, 2024, district courts brought her to administrative responsibility 23 times for operating in the field of transport without a license with gross violations of conditions. Fines totaling 3.6 million rubles were imposed on the company.
The general director of Taxi is Pavel Kuznetsov, who is also the sole founder. The company has eight government contracts, seven of them with the St. Petersburg State Public Institution “Transportation Organizer”. 2023 brought Taxi 632 million rubles in revenue and 103 thousand rubles in net profit. The company is associated with a conglomerate controlled by the owner of Piteravto, Leonid Bondarenko.
The bus was driven by 44-year-old Rakhmatshokh, who, according to preliminary data, was registered in the village of Ramenye, Volkhov district of the Leningrad region.
Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations lifted nine people from a sunken bus. Two of them are in serious condition, four are in a state of clinical death. Three died. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case regarding the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.
