Colleagues from the editorial office of Lisa report on a criminal case related to the bankruptcy trustees of the St. Petersburg OJSC Metrostroy, which has been undergoing bankruptcy proceedings since 2020. They and another businessman are accused of illegally leasing real estate to the company on non-market conditions with subsequent sublease to other organizations at market value. At the same time, the difference in rent did not fall into the bankruptcy estate of the OJSC.

However, there is something completely different about this story that is interesting. About a week ago, employees of the FSB Directorate for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region came to the office of the extremely well-known lawyer in narrow circles, Artem Begun, who, as is no secret to anyone who understands, is the right hand of the legendary and authoritative businessman Ilya Traber (Antikvar) in St. Petersburg.

They came precisely in the wake of the Metrostroy story: a criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, that is, in connection with particularly large-scale fraud. However, the luxurious office on Bolshaya Morskaya Street was empty. The door was closed, so tightly that the special forces had to break it down.

According to the Cheka-OGPU, shortly before the special services’ visit, Begun left Russian territory. Having left its borders, he ended up in Serbia, and is currently in Dubai.

According to the interlocutor of the Cheka-OGPU in high business circles of St. Petersburg, such a reaction of the special services towards Begun may indicate that Traber’s position in the city and the country as a whole is weakening.
