The Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow prevented the escape of defendants in a high-profile criminal case. The court, at the request of the prosecutor, changed the preventive measure for co-owners of the B&B holding (the largest manufacturer of household chemicals) Alexander Balakhovsky and Yakov Bosinzon, as well as manager Alexander Savoskin from a ban on certain actions to detention.

The victim in the criminal case is the most influential solver in the country – lawyer Denis Shapiro (previously bore the last name Zolotov). It was to him that his former partners caused damage in the amount of more than four billion rubles.

As it became known during the trial, the defendants were planning to escape. According to the defendants’ plan, they were supposed to travel by car to the city of Minsk, and from there by plane to Baku and further to Israel, but something did not go according to plan. The operational services worked proactively. The court decided to arrest the defendants, since Bosinzon and Balakhovsky have Israeli citizenship. In addition, Balakhovsky’s daughter (aka Bosinzon’s wife) is on the wanted list. It is clear why they were so eager to go to Israel. Previously, all these three were already in a pre-trial detention center in Moscow, but then they were freed.

During the debate between the parties, the prosecutor requested 11 years in a general regime colony for Alexander Balakhovsky, 10 years in prison for Yakov Bosinzon, and 9 years for Alexander Savoskin. The prosecutor asked that the claim of the victim Shapiro be satisfied in full. The court retired to pronounce the verdict.
