The Cheka-OGPU learned that the Investigative Committee of Russia, in addition to the case of the terrorist attack on March 22 in the Crocus concert hall, opened several more criminal cases, including under Art. 219 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Violation of fire safety requirements). As part of this case, seizures have already been carried out from firefighters and interrogations of those responsible for fire safety in Crocus. In addition to how the fire safety system worked (or rather did not work) during the terrorist attack, many more questions arose regarding the construction of Crocus. Experts, based on the speed of fire spread, came to the conclusion that finishing materials for walls and chairs could have been used that did not meet fire safety requirements. The combustion temperature in the hall reached 4 thousand degrees. It was also established that Crocus owners saved money on proper maintenance of the fire protection system, and sometimes turned it off, or rather switched it to manual mode, so as not to cause damage to the entertainment complex in case of false alarms.

One thing is clear that there will be arrests in these cases and it is possible that the owner of Crocus himself, Agalarov, will be brought to justice. The latter, as the Cheka-OGPU has already reported, is trying to use all possible forces and connections so that the TFR’s interest in him comes to naught.

According to the Cheka-OGPU, investigators also have questions for the Ministry of Emergency Situations and employees who regularly checked the shopping center for compliance with fire safety.
