Mnifin and the Ministry of Economic Development seem to be leading to the fact that from April 1, the duty-free import threshold for goods purchased online with delivery from abroad will be automatically and sharply reduced five times from 1,000 to 200 euros. The meeting of the Government Subcommission on Customs, Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation, Protective Measures in Foreign Trade, at which, among other things, the issue of extending the 1,000 euro threshold for duty-free import should be resolved, has been postponed for the fourth time. FAS Russia firmly stands on maintaining the norm of 1000 euros, since otherwise prices on the domestic market will increase by 10-13%, but the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has not yet held a meeting of the Subcommittee.

Either Minister Reshetnikov is waiting for an automatic reduction, or he wants to raise this issue to the level of the Prime Minister, as was the case last year – then M.V. Mishustin, by a strong-willed decision, left the threshold norm at 1000 euros for goods purchased on Russian marketplaces with delivery from abroad . Taking into account what is happening and the new round of Western sanctions, we can only hope that the Government will leave this outlet for the population for another year. And the EEC Council will approve the decision to extend the norm of the threshold of 1000 euros with enforcement from April 1, since this measure only improves the situation of citizens and legal entities.
