The second possible resignation that the security forces are talking about is the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, and his first deputy, Eduard Kaburneev. Here, too, the sources of the Cheka-OGPU name the applicants with whom consultations were held. According to them, First Deputy Prosecutor General Anatoly Razinkin is being tried on to replace the new head of the Investigative Committee, and Pavel Goryachev, Deputy Head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, is trying to replace Kaburneev.
Bastrykin, as sources say, has long asked to be released into retirement. But Kaburneev, if he leaves the TFR, will probably receive a new appointment. Possible places to continue your career include the Federal Customs Service.
There is no secret who is promoting Razinkin to the position of head of the ICR – it is Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and, most importantly, his influential godfather, head of the Directorate for the FSB of the Russian Federation, Ivan Tkachev. Both are included in the “orbit” of Rosneft head Igor Sechin. The Sechinskys’ desire to occupy as many posts as quickly as possible is quite understandable. On the sidelines of the security forces, I believe that during this presidential term of Putin, the Kovalchuks will aim at ousting the Sechinites from all positions and have an excellent chance of doing so.
