The editors of the Cheka-OGPU learned that a convict who was severely beaten on the night of March 9-10 died in Correctional Colony No. 4 in Yelets, Lipetsk Region. After our publication, prosecutors visited the colony on March 18 and “carried out” an investigation into the fact that the convicts had consumed alcohol, used communication devices, and also beaten the convict, who subsequently died. Of course, the prosecutor’s check was carried out only on paper. None of the convicts who beat (killed) another convict has even been interviewed to date. The local Investigative Directorate does not carry out any inspection activities. It is worth noting that the convict was killed in the SUS (detachment for persistent violators). There, in the SUS, sits a prisoner from IK-4, nicknamed Kastet. In the colony you can still buy alcohol, communications equipment, as well as any food (convict Alexey Shkurin is responsible for this).
