As the Cheka-OGPU learned, a private participant in the war on the territory of Ukraine from Yakutia stabbed to death his drinking companion in a hotel in the center of Ulan-Ude because he “expressed rude and obscene language to him personally and to all servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation regarding the conduct of special operations.” In addition, the serviceman caught the victim stealing a knife from his backpack right in his hotel room. The men met shortly before the libation.

“He, considering himself a patriot of his homeland, was indignant at this behavior [собутыльника]considering this an insult to himself personally and all his colleagues, therefore, because of the loss of the knife and most of all because of such statements by the victim in relation to the military personnel taking part in the special operation, he hit [собутыльника] with a second knife in his chest on the left, realizing that he was striking a vital organ,” the indictment says.

The serviceman’s wife stated in court that after returning from the war, he became “aggressive, hot-tempered, slept little, and began to abuse alcohol.” In this regard, the defendant consulted a psychologist, but did not have time to complete the course of treatment. The court sentenced a military man from Yakutia to six and a half years of strict regime in a murder case. The defendant will also be required to pay compensation for moral damages to the brother of the murdered man.
