According to the interlocutors, the camp led by the head of the PMC with the call sign Lotus gathered only… about a couple of hundred mercenaries. This was a failure among failures in the entire history of the company, but the commander convinced the representatives of the Russian Guard that he would bring more people. But this did not happen.
As a result, all the time spent at the base boiled down to the fact that the mercenaries did not even undergo training – in the camp they steamed in the bathhouse and sat on their phones, waiting for replenishment. Over time, the downtime began to irritate everyone (the stormtroopers at that time had a salary of 56 thousand rubles), both the “musicians” and the Russian Guard.
In this regard, the head of the PMC began to be seen less and less by his comrades – he did not leave his pallet, and then disappeared completely. But after the publications of the Cheka-OGPU, the “bruised” Lotus “resurrected” and made an entry about the “Decepticons”, as well as plans to assemble a 45,000-strong group in the tents of Cossack camps near Rostov. It was a desperate bluff.
The mercenaries went into disarray, and Viktor Zolotov, after another report about the positions of PMC Wagner, which had become subordinate to the Russian Guard, demanded that the project be immediately curtailed. According to the Wagners themselves, they did not even learn the news about the expense from the mouth of Lotus; the commander never appeared before the group.
The mercenaries were assured that after the elections there would be a new gathering, but now they would not have the status of fighters of a unit that claims to be separate and independent. In other words, PMC Wagner, in the form in which it was created by Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin, no longer exists and this company is unlikely to be recreated.
