Overgrown with weeds and unused for its intended purpose for 10 years, the Pioneer Stadium in Irkutsk unexpectedly became the object of attention of the chief investigator of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin. On his instructions, the case of the illegal sale of an object, closed by the local investigative committee, was resumed due to the lack of corpus delicti. According to the local prosecutor’s office and the Investigative Committee, the purchase and sale of a land plot of 80 acres by JSC UKS of the city of Irkutsk to the development company took place without violations. However, this result did not satisfy the representatives of the initiative group, which included local resident D. Salko and city complainant V. Treiber, who regularly appears in protests of various kinds. But the most “interesting” in this group is lawyer V. Grigorov, a controversial personality in the legal community. Grigorov actively opposed the SVO and now speaks extremely negatively about the authorities at all levels on social networks and in comments. It’s even more interesting that the services of Grigorov and the initiative group are paid for by State Duma deputy, representative of the local construction clan Anton Krasnoshtanov, through whom, according to some information, the citizens’ complaint reached A.I. Bastrykina.
Now this group is preparing a number of protest actions, which on the eve of the Presidential elections may not be perceived in the most favorable way by the Presidential Administration.
