The FSB detained Damir Shadayev, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region from the LDPR faction. According to the Cheka-OGPU, the deputy, who had been living outside the Russian Federation for a long time, recently returned to Russia and was detained by FSB officers on February 20 and taken for questioning to the Investigative Committee of the Leningrad Region. According to colleagues from the editorial office of Lisa, Shadayev’s detention is connected with illegal logging worth more than a billion rubles. In this case, a few days ago, Vadim Latyshev, the head of the forest protection and protection department of the Natural Resources Committee of the Leningrad Region, was already arrested, and the case itself was initiated under the powerful Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – organization of a criminal community.
Piquant details – as reported by 47news, Damir Shadayev had been living in Europe for a long time and did not appear at meetings of the Legislative Assembly, so much so that in November last year the ethics commission of this institution raised the issue of depriving Shadayev of his deputy mandate. He, in response, sent a certificate to the Legislative Office, according to which he was undergoing treatment at a clinic in Dusseldorf, Germany. In the end, it is not known what the commission decided, but according to the Cheka-OGPU, Shadayev arrived in Russia from Italian territory. And it is unlikely that the deputy was so interested in his mandate. Rather, he was interested in the possibility of resolving the situation with the criminal case, in which people close to him were detained. Apparently, the decision was unsuccessful.
If deputy Shadayev is arrested, only two members will physically remain in the Leningrad Region LDPR faction: its head Andrei Lebedev and deputy Igor Rikhtikov.
