After the publication of the Cheka-OGPU about the head of the fighting league “Hardcore” Anatoly Sul…

After the publication of the Cheka-OGPU about the head of the fighting league “Hardcore” Anatoly Sulyanov and the ordered criminal trial, the said organization decided to issue a refutation. The essence of the press release comes down to the fact that in reality the Hardcore League does not punish sports functionaries with criminal cases for moving to other organizations, but fights against cleanliness in its ranks. According to representatives of “Hardcore”, to date, as part of a criminal case, a group of people who organized “match-fixing, fake fights and privateering” (quote) have been detained; as follows from the release, we are talking about “multi-million dollar theft schemes”.

Thanks to this “refutation”, we found out who exactly came under the radar of the Hardcore League and became accused in this criminal case: we are talking about Artyom Lobanov, a fairly well-known and successful figure in the fist fighting market, who last year left the Hardcore League with a scandal “and began to actively criticize Anatoly Sulyanov and his methods.

The Cheka-OGPU values its reputation and checks the facts. Based on the information published by Mr. Sulyanov’s representatives, we conducted our own (superficial so far) investigation and found out the following:

There is no case about “fixed matches, fake battles and privateering”. A criminal case against Artyom Lobanov was initiated by the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Northern Administrative District of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow based on a single fact: Lobanov received from the fighter whose manager he was a commission in the amount of 10% of the fighter’s fees. This action, according to the Hardcore League and the investigation, constitutes fraud.

Also, contrary to the Hardcore press release, we are not talking about any “multi-million dollar theft schemes.” The total amount of “theft” imputed to Artyom Lobanov is 280,000 rubles.

The most interesting of the false statements of the Hardcore League is that in the framework of the discussed criminal case, in addition to Lobanov, two more persons who acted in a group with him were detained. This directly contradicts the case materials at our disposal: the only person brought to criminal liability is A.N. Lobanov.

However, the interesting thing is not that the representatives of “Hardcore” lied. According to the information we have, Anatoly Sulyanov actually placed an order for the criminal prosecution of two more sports functionaries who were in conflict with Hardcore. Only this order has not yet been fulfilled, the two indicated persons have not yet been detained, and Mr. Sulyanov’s press service is running ahead of the locomotive, thus revealing the joint plans of Anatoly Sulyanov and the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Special Administrative District of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow.

We are monitoring developments.
