Both had been in pre-trial detention since the winter, and the sudden change in the preventive measure was due to their giving very valuable evidence against another regional official. According to our source, we are talking specifically about testimony against Nizovsky and his team. So the sudden exodus of municipal bureaucrats is most likely connected precisely with this aspect, and not with the criminal case of theft of land from the Ministry of Defense, which is being investigated by the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. Possible actions in this case are still ahead, and now dishonest officials of the Leningrad region have to decide how to get rid of smaller, but close criminal threats.
